Last year I did a week of intro level off-piste skiing with UCPA in Flaine, Grand Massif in the French Alps and loved it. This year, I've signed up for a week of intro to randonee(ie alpine touring in north american speak) in Argentičre near Chamonix, Feb 1-7.

For those who are not familiar, UCPA is a French non-profit that promotes sporting activities for young people. Their programs are mainly aim at those aged 18-39, although selected programs (Including some off piste ski weeks) are open up to age 55, and are open to all nationalities. Its an all inclusive, budget style holiday, with dorm room accomadations and cafeteria style meals, but the skiing/boarding experience is top notch. They cater to all experience levels, and all equipment and instruction/guiding is included in the price. Its a hell of a bargain for anyone looking to experience european skiing on a budget.
