Past Saturday in the Grandvalira.com collection of resorts. This is the largest connected ski area in Andorra. There are many places to access the area, but we reached it via a 20min gondola ride from the town Encamp. The Funibus, a free local bus, picked us up in front of the pkace we are staying and dropped us at the gondola.

The area where one gets out of the gondola consists mainly of blue and red runs, but some of those reds are pretty steep and narrow. Strikingly is the wide and open spaces, making it easy to ride neraly anywhere between pistes.

Last day in Andorra and we went back to the Grandvalira area trying to cover as much of it as possible.

The wide and open areas are probably the thing that strikes one the most about this area. There is little in terms of trees, but with the main red pistes becoming scraped off an icy we kept ourselves busy between pistes, finding bumps, trees, gullies etc. There are few black pistes around, but we managed to find a good moguled one, which the skiboards excelled at.

I spent this last day on Eman Uprise 104s again, and I just marvelled how well they (and Revel8 Revolts) are suited to this kind of terrain. I think that if one does a lot of groomers , ungroomed pistes and side-piste they are a good buy.

I'm writing up a detailed resort review which I'll post soon.

In the mean time to answer your question, flying Barcelona would be my recommendation. There is a bus (3h transit) that you can book online that will take you from the airport to near your hotel in Andorra for about €33 one way.

There are other airports that you can fly too as well, but if you are not in Europe Barcelona should be your first choice and Toulouse second.

(I caught a 24h winter ferry from the UK to Santander in Spain and then drove 7.5h on most good quality highways).
