I just found some items that I'll need to add to a board or 2 of mine , to add the set back that I really like to ride, now I just need to make a template to make sure I drill the holes in the right spots.

Use calipers to make sure your board is thick enough to take the inserts, specifically if they are further back on the boards than the regular inserts.

    Yep, I have those too.
    Have you used those before?

Thanks to Bad Wolfs inspiration and help I finally got my Spliffs mounted with G3 Ion AT bindings. Also did my daughters new Sticky Ickys. Now all we need is some decent snow in CO to try em out.

Hey, alpinenut, did you use the inserts for your risers?

I'm curious about whether the HDPE is strong enough for a direct mount. Not that the inserts seem like they'd be much trouble to install.

Sooner or later I want to start touring, and have been scratching my head about how to set up the bindings. I just realized recently that there is such a thing as non-releasable AT bindings, which was the biggest question mark (I'm not keen on going releasable, especially when you're out in the middle of nowhere and could lose a board).

To help with all my binding and riser projects I made a template out of 1/8th inch HDPE. I used a Spruce Riser to mark the hole locations for the bindings and the insert hole locations. It has become an invaluable tool for the type of precision hole locations you need for theses types of projects. The red lines on the template help me line up the template with the riser blank.

With this template I can custom drill for any riser location and binding pattern I require.
